As we look ahead to 2026, we are putting in place a clear Bridging Strategy to ensure smooth leadership continuity and strong delivery of our goals while preparing for the next strategic cycle (2026–2029). Our focus remains on maintaining momentum, supporting our people, and safeguarding the progress achieved through the 2022–2025 “Making a Difference” Trust priorities. This month, we are proud to have been awarded Level 3 status in the Disability Confident scheme, and we are exploring more ways for the people we support to have greater control and flexibility over their funding.
In November, we will launch the advert to replace me, with interviews planned for January and a decision expected in early February. Senior Managers will continue to focus on key priorities, including recruitment, retention, and development of colleagues, increasing income, supporting innovation, and involving the people we support. With local elections in May 2026, it will be an ideal time for the new CEO to lead the development of our next strategy.
Our key focus areas remain: keeping support consistent and amplifying the voices of the people we support, managing budgets carefully to make the best use of ACC, Creative Spaces, and MAKE, and continuing social enterprise and digital projects while pausing major new initiatives until the new CEO is in place. We are also maintaining strong relationships with funders, councils, and community partners, and ensuring open communication, celebration of success, and prioritising wellbeing.
From mid-2026, we will begin shaping the 2026–2029 Our Plan, drawing on feedback from staff, the people we support, and our partners. Together, we will build on our successes and continue to make a difference every day.
